Micro-transactions have been a controversial issue ever since horse-armor came to Oblivion, so the reaction may be mixed as they enter the realm of Black Ops 2. Thus far, none of the available micro-transactions will give players an unfair boost over others, but rather offer gamers options to customize their experience. Players will now be able to purchase custom content for their weapons, badges and player calling cards. Those playing from countries without any on-disc flag representation can now purchase a flag for $1 (80 MSP).
Hardcore gamers unsatisfied with having only 10 slots to allocate player classes will also have the option to purchase another 10 for $2 (160 MS Points). This will have the added bonus of allowing those players to use 20 more emblems, 32 more films and 40 more screenshots.

Treyarch also pushed out some standard updates for Black Ops 2 that address issues like weapon balancing and spawn point balancing, and include several bug fixes. The studio has also made improvements to CODCasting, allowing gamers to go back and watch previous League Play matches in their entirety. Support for background downloads now enables gamers to play Black Ops 2 whilst DLC is being downloaded.
What do you think, Ranters? Will you be buying into any of the offered micro-transactions? Do you want a bacon-themed SMG?
